About

I think anything can walk into a bar and get a laugh and I aim to prove it on this blog.  But there will be more funny things to read on this simple entertainment resource, and it’s all suitable for everyone in the family.  Hope your laughter can be heard all through the house as you read through my posts from the teams in my….

Laughter League

Walks Into a Bar: This is the signature category for this site.  Most people have heard of this genre of funny stories but it’s usually where a person walks into a bar.  That’s fine but way too easy for me, so the majority of my jokes will feature inanimate objects like acronyms, food and drink, wearing apparel, familiar sayings, and a whole lot more.

Couple’s Comedy:  Ellen and I think we might be the next Burns and Allen, although I’m not sure about always being the straight man to her zaniness.

Chuckle Control: Climate control in the San Francisco Bay area, where we used to live, is a big deal and when ‘Spare the Air’ days were called, burning wood, manufactured fire logs, pellets, or any other solid fuels in your fireplace, woodstove or outdoor fire pit, was illegal.  But I think that the things rhyming with ‘Air’ need some attention of their own, which is what I intend to do in this category.

Funny Firsts: (Coming Soon)  There’s always a great kick for me and a laugh for others when I come up with a joke for the first time.  Usually, it involves being at someone’s place of business and surprising them (and me sometimes) with a LOL moment.

Kid’s Konfusions:  There’s so much to learn about the English language as a child, and then, after grasping the meaning of one word or phrase, you’re confronted with a completely different meaning when it’s used again.  Very konfusing, but at least I get a joke out of the situation.

Laughically Speaking: Mix some graphic design with funny words and what do you have?  Hopefully, you and your friends, rolling on the floor laughing.

Proverbially Punny: (Coming Soon)  We all know those well-known phrases like “keep a stiff upper lip” or “hook, line, and sinker” but what I didn’t know, until buying a Daily Brain Games calendar from Happy Neuron, was that by changing a couple of letter in each word of a saying, you could come up with something clever and comic.

Sign-a-tology: The study of funny found on road signs, billboards, and anywhere else they might be hanging around.

Tips For the Times: That special situation arises when you desperately need clarification on the right thing to do but where do you go for help?  Come to Tips For the Times and we’ll give you so much to laugh about, you won’t care anymore about what to do.

What Not Thoughts: Identical words and phrases can have separate and, I think, funny meanings,  making them a perfect resource for this site.

Wifely Wit: Love this category nearly as much as I love my wife, whose humor will be featured here.

Just Because: (Coming Soon…Probably) Sometimes my creativity doesn’t stay within my own guidelines…in other words, I’ll write a joke and not be able to figure out which other team it should be posted in and when that happens, it goes here.
